cooking at mat's last saturday was funnn! :D

in the afternoon we shopped for the groceries and in the evening we started cooking. the first dish we whipped out was honey and black pepper beef :D i had fun slicing the steak into thin strips while mat had a miserable time chopping the onion up :P after preparing all the ingredients it was time to cook. i was super scared coz the moment i threw the beef into the wok the oil was splattering everywhere and i couldn't stand placing my hand anywhere near the wok so mat did the frying instead -.- hehe.. he did the rest of the frying anyway, while i did the supervising :P

i felt there was too much honey, but mat thought it was alright. the beef was a little hard coz the cook book wasn't detailed enough to tell us to add some powder to soften the beef. but aiya, still could bite lah.

feeling guilty that i was only supervising, i decided the cook the second dish. thankfully the oil didn't splatter much this time coz they were just vegetables :D

not too bad right! :D but the sauce was too thick.. i didn't add enough water and added too little veggies. so it was a little too salty :x but everyone said it was nice apart from being salty! :D hehe.. not too bad for a first-timer.

i'm the most scared of frying eggs! but mat insisted i should fry one for him coz he wanted to eat it badly -.- i was scared of the oil splattering again, so i had him throw the egg into the pan while i did the rest of the frying :P

whee! i should overcome my phobia soon!

being a first-timer in cooking, the family shouldn't trust me in fixing the dinner :x so mat's maid did another round of cooking just in case mine was totally inedible :P in the end we had a 7 course meal!

what a feast :P oh but i still don't know how to cook rice coz his maid cooked it for everyone! :x

Christmas is coming and my family won't be celebrating it in singapore. we bought a log cake yesterday to celebrate it in advance!
